Executive DIRECTOR
Born and raised in Seattle, Kevin is a life-long soccer fan, having regularly watched the NASL-era Sounders play at Memorial Stadium and at the Kingdome. Kevin has worked in the the financial services industry for many years and brings extensive business and management experience to the club.
In the youth soccer realm, Kevin was a volunteer for many years on the local scene in Seattle. He served on the Woodland Soccer Club Board of Directors for five years in various capacities including secretary, field advocate, SYSA commissioner and, in his last year there, as club president. He coached a Rec team for four years, and also holds a Grade 8 referee license.
Among the highlights of Kevin’s involvement supporting Seattle youth soccer:
As field advocate at Woodland, Kevin led the club’s efforts to convert Lower Woodland play fields 2 and 7 from sand to synthetic turf. Over the course of three years (2006-2008), Kevin lobbied in front of the City Council, the Council’s Parks Subcommittee and met multiple times with then-Mayor Greg Nickels, Council Member Tom Rasmussen, and then-Parks Superintendent Timothy Gallagher. He rallied dozens of Wallingford and Green Lake soccer families in an all-out door-to-door canvassing effort leading up to the November 2008 Parks and Green Spaces levy vote. He also nurtured a critical relationship with the influential Friends of Green Lake, who had initially resisted the levy line items allocating funds for synthetic turf at Lower Woodland. The Seattle Parks and Green Spaces Levy passed by a wide margin in 2008, and thanks to levy funding, the conversion work was completed and the fields were dedicated in fall 2009.
In addition, as a five-year member of the SYSA Board of Commissioners, Kevin provided direction and leadership on a variety of association-wide youth soccer issues — not the least of which was the creation of Seattle United, SYSA’s advanced development program.Kevin holds a B.A. (History) from California State University, Northridge, and a law degree from Seattle University School of Law.
