Jayden Gonzalez has just signed with Club América! Seattle United is proud to send him off to Mexico City where he will be joining one of the most prestigious academies in all of the Americas to continue his pathway to becoming a professional soccer player.
A highly sought after talent, Jayden has been with Seattle United for the past seven years, starting with the club at the young age of 6. A dynamic, and creative midfield player, he had been playing a year up with the ECNL league champion, B10 ECNL team.
Jayden says the moment is bittersweet for him. While he is excited for the next challenge in his soccer career, he has created strong bonds and fond memories at the club. His favorite memory, winning the ‘Best of the Best’ bracket in Surf Cup, he loved the connection and cohesion the team had during the tournament. Jayden expresses “ I will miss how much the club pushed me as a player and as a person. I really had competitive teammates, that pushed me to be better. They were really good friends too, who always treated me with respect.”
The decision to go off to Mexico City was a difficult one for him. Jayden highlighted how instrumental his family has been to his success and how much he will miss them. But, joining the best team in Mexico was an opportunity he couldn’t pass up. Club América has won the most Mexican league titles in history and has a state of the art live-in academy. Producing top Premier League and World Cup talents like Raúl Jiménez and Edson Álvarez. Jayden says he can’t wait to eat, sleep, and breathe the sport that he loves. “I motivate myself, this is what I love. Having people that care about me and the sport, this is my passion, this is what I want to do.
