University of Washington Sports Medicine Center

Seattle United has partnered with the UW Sports Medicine Center at Husky Stadium.  This partnership allows for SU families with a sports injury to get first priority when it comes to making an appointment.  SU families are guaranteed an appointment within 24 – 48 hours of calling UW.  The UW Sports Medicine Center at Husky Stadium treats: concussion evaluation and management, acute injury, chronic injury, heart screens, orthopedics, physical therapy, VO2 max testing.  If you would like an appointment, e-mail the clinic  at and mention you are a Seattle United family, the name and birth-date of the injured athlete and the injury, and they will assist you scheduling an appointment.  Please contact your insurance company directly for questions about coverage or billing.

Medical Advisory Committee

The Medical Advisory Committee (MAC) serves as a volunteer council to provide guidance to Seattle United on current best practices related to the health and safety of players. The members are:

Dr. Jonathan Drezner – UW Sports Medicine Physician, Team Physician Seattle Seahawks

Dr. John O’Kane – UW Sports Medicine Physician and Head Physician UW Huskies

Dr. April Stempien-Otero – UW Cardiologist

MAC Goals:

  1. To develop educational materials and information for coaches, parents, and players in areas relevant to common youth soccer injuries.
  2. To review and develop policies related to player safety, injury prevention, management and recovery.
  3. To develop and implement a Club-wide injury prevention program, including coach and player education and training to incorporate injury prevention exercises as a routine part of practice.
