Overview

Our most popular program offering, the Player Development Academy (PDA) is a seasonal 6-week program that is only open to SYSA rec players (no Seattle United players accepted).  The PDA is a program that is divided into Summer, Fall, Winter and Spring “sub-seasons”.  Each training session focuses on a specific topic to stimulate the technical and tactical development of each player. Overall, the PDA is a great program that provides players with professional coaching in a fun, competitive environment.

  • Payment via Debit or Credit Cards only
  • Cost: $175 (includes mini ball or t-shirt)
  • Wear shin guards, cleats and weather appropriate clothing
  • This program is limited to 200 players per 1.5 hour long session
  • Financial aid available for qualified families

*Programs Refund Policy: refunds will be awarded only when (a) a player is injured and is unable to return to the program (a signed physician’s note required); (b) a family moves beyond a 50 mile radius of club headquarters, or (c) when a refund request is made one week prior to that start of the program’s first session.

For our fall installment, session topics will expand to incorporate passing/receiving, turning with the ball, and ball striking/finishing. Over the course of 6 weeks, the program will have the specific focus of teaching proper passing technique, good body mechanics and improving overall first touch. Additionally, training sessions will improve individual ball striking/finishing with an emphasis on building confidence when going to goal. Again, coaches will provide homework for each player to work on outside of training so they can continue to improve their confidence with the ball and overall technique.

Finally, players will get the opportunity to train with our excellent Seattle United coaches in a fun, competitive environment that will help them improve their individual skills in order to develop confident, intelligent soccer players.

The summer session will be a technical developmental program that will focus on ball mastery and 1v1 situations.  Specifically, players will be taught to deal with defenders in front, defenders on the side and defenders from behind.  Additionally, players will be exposed to a variety of ball mastery skills to maximize the amount of touches for each player.  In order to encourage players to take ownership of their development and to help players develop good practice habits, players will be given specific ball mastery homework each week.  Finally, each session will include a Speed, Agility, and Quickness (SAQ) component because Seattle United believes establishing good balance and coordination will help every player develop as an athlete!
