I hope everyone is having some fun in the sun at tournaments this summer!  Here are a few things to keep in mind for players, parents, and coaches in the summer heat:

  • Stay HYDRATED:  Players should be drinking water and/or sports drink before, during and after each practice and game!  See the chart below for suggestions.
  • Wear SUNSCREEN:  Sunburns are painful, damaging to skin, and contribute to dehydration. Apply sunscreen 30 minutes before sun exposure, and don’t forget to reapply every few hours!
  • Properly FUEL:  Players need to fuel with healthy meals and snacks before games, and after as a part of recovery.  See the chart below for suggestions.
