Seattle United Hires Kristin Gollofon as Athletic Trainer

Seattle United, in partnership with UW Medicine, has hired a Certified Athletic Trainer to work with SU players on and off the field.  Kristin Gollofon, MS, ATC, AT/L, will be charged with implementing a club-wide injury prevention program and will also cover major tournaments/events and serve as first responder and certified athletic trainer.

“I’m very excited to return to the Pacific Northwest and become a part of the Seattle United community!  I’m looking forward to meeting as many members of the club as possible, and strive to help young athletes perform at their highest potential,” said Gollofon.

Kristin grew up in Woodinville, WA and has been a Seattle sports fan her entire life.  She was a gymnast for fifteen years, starting at the age of three.  She also coached gymnastics for several years, working with boys and girls ages 4-18.

Kristin received her Bachelor of Science degree in athletic training from Oregon State University in 2014.   She went on to earn a Master of Science degree from Utah State University, where she worked as a graduate assistant athletic trainer in the athletic department.

Kristin is a board certified athletic trainer, and a member of the National Athletic Trainers’ Association.  She is licensed in the state of Washington, and certified in CPR and AED administration.  Kristin’s main goal as an athletic trainer is to help young athletes compete at their highest potential, while maintaining an optimal level of health.

Dr. Jon Drezner, Team Physician for the Seattle Seahawks and UW Huskies and member of the Seattle United Medical Advisory Committee, says, “Kristin brings experience and enthusiasm to the club.  She will be a great resource and drive our injury prevention program that really sets Seattle United apart from other youth sporting organizations.”

Executive Director Kevin Long adds, “I am excited that Seattle United has hired Kristin Gollofon as its new Athletic Trainer.  Seattle United, in it’s partnership with UW Medicine, is committed to our players’ well-being, and through this hire the club will be able to provide them a training and warm-up curriculum that we hope will reduce injury.”
