Seattle United, in partnership with the UW Sports Medicine Clinic, has hired a Certified Athletic Trainer to work with SU players on and off the field. Jordyn Eisenhard, MS, ATC, will be charged with instituting a club-wide injury prevention program and will also cover major tournaments/events and serve as first responder and certified athletic trainer.
Jordyn also spends half of her time working in the UW Sports Medicine Center providing one on one rehabilitation for athletes of all ages. Before coming to SU, Jordyn spent the past 3 years working at Oregon State University with the women’s soccer and crew teams.
Jordyn Eisenhard: “I am excited to be here at SU! I really look forward to helping prevent injuries in the young athlete population here in Seattle and working with the families of injured athletes to get them back on the field.”
Jordyn was hired by Dr. Jonathan Drezner, MD, a team physician for the Seattle Seahawks & UW Huskies and the chair of Seattle United’s Medical Advisory Committee.
“As a parent in Seattle United and chair of the medical advisory board, I am delighted Jordyn has joined the club to lead and implement a club-wide injury prevention program and provide athletic training services. She is wonderfully enthusiastic, a great instructor and will be a valuable resource for Seattle United, our parents, and our children,” says Dr. Drezner. “Hiring an athletic trainer was a high priority to promote the health and safety of Seattle United players. This service really sets Seattle United apart from other youth sporting clubs.”
Jordyn has already implemented warm up routines with more than 30 Seattle United teams.
