Seattle United Hires Ralph Black

Seattle United welcomes one of the Northwest’s most successful coaches to its management team with the hiring of Ralph Black.

Ralph brings over 18 years of coaching experience in the top level of youth soccer where he has led many teams to State Championships, Far West Regionals and to the US Youth Soccer National Final in 2009.

Having coached in every age of youth soccer, Ralph has mentored many players from ages 7 to 18, as well as players in the collegiate and professional level including Sounders Lamar Neagle and the recently-signed Victor Mansaray.

“I’m really excited to take on a management role at Seattle United,” Black said. “I look forward to playing a big part in the development of Seattle United’s players.”

Recently, as a coach in the USSDA Academy for the past 5 seasons, Ralph has had the opportunity to mentor players in the country’s highest level of youth soccer.

“We’re thrilled to have Ralph join Seattle United as an integral part of our club leadership,” said DOC Jimmy McAlister. “Our club is at a point where we want to hire the very top coaches to move us forward.”
